I have a little secret… our swimsuits bear a quiet inspiration in their names. They allude to Black women whose lives continue to serve as validation and inspiration for me while bringing crescent bleu™ to life. For the first time, I’m sharing the personal significance behind a select few.

Name inspired by Maya Angelou. Writer, Poet, Activist. A woman who did it all with fervor and grace. Voice and keeper of our narrative who validated our experiences and upheld the spaces our bodies take. Maya reminds us that we will still rise and we will do it with a walk, a laugh, a dance, and a certainty that sees us through.
Fun fact: Maya Angelou’s talents spanned multiple genres, even that of a calypso dancer.

Name inspired by Simone Biles. Embodiment of dedication. World class athlete who continues to demonstrate the impossible with seemingly effortless precision. We loved her almost as instantly as we met her. Simone’s example of focus and perseverance are made of gold.
Most admired feat: Showing us that Champions deserve rest and safety and can and will do so with dignity.
