FEBRUARY LOVE
You don’t have to wait for Valentine’s Day to flourish in all-encompassing love. We posted a Self Care Bingo prompt with small but impactful acts of self love you can do every day.
Buying myself flowers is a personal favorite & quickly uplifts my mind & my space. In the spirit of celebrating love, I have a gift for you- a giveaway! Be sure to follow along @crescentbleu socials for details.

There’s no better time like the present to tell you where I’m from- New Orleans baby. They say New York is the city that never sleeps. This Brooklyn girl by way of NOLA is here to tell you New Orleans is tucking NYC into bed. Next Tuesday is Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. In pre-covid days and on a year with Lunar New Year & NYC schools Winter Break coinciding, I would be home celebrating.
Time would seem to standstill with all the fun to be shared with friends and family. Perhaps I could steal away to explore The Chloe hotel just steps away from my childhood home (dreaming of a stay & pool bar lounge there in ‘LAILA X KARI’ swimsuit as soon as possible). In this Black History Month, hearing the Mayor of my birth city honor the Big Chiefs of the Mardi Gras Indians- an integral thread in the tapestry of Black existence and impact on Mardi Gras culture- and promote the city’s safety by skipping masking this year speaks to a resilience I’ve come to own. This and seeing New Orleanians’ innovative displays of celebration in the form of yardigras and house floats serve as a blueprint for a delightful pivot in a trying time.
Lastly, February pacts and extra bang because-- it’s my birthday month! Like the crescent signifying cyclical new beginnings, I’m feeling grateful and looking forward to continuing my journey of self and motherhood alongside my commitment to crescent bleu for many years to come. Stay tuned on @crescentbleu socials for my special birthday wish!
